A planned diet, also known as a healthy eating plan, is a well-structured meal plan that focuses on consuming nutritious foods that provide essential nutrients and energy for the body. The goal of a planned diet is to achieve and maintain good health, prevent chronic diseases, and manage weight. A planned diet should be personalized to meet individual needs and preferences, such as age, gender, body weight, physical activity level, and medical condition.


 

What  should be a healthy eating plan?

Healthy meal planning is an important aspect for any person who is concerned about his health to maintain a variety in the diet. Choice of food is greatly influenced by a person’s social and economic life, cultural background ,religious beliefs , geographical location and availability of specific food commodity.

Here are some guidelines that may be followed  for a healthy meal planning.

·                    Select food from all food groups.
·         Include all the basic food groups in your diet plan.
·         Include at least one food from dairy portion in each meal.
·         Use more vegetables ,especially leafy.
·         Cereal group  should not provide more than 75% total energy requirments.
·         Total calories from fat group should never exceed 20%.
